Bernard Henri Desrousseaux is born in Menin, Belgium. He studied visual arts at the National School of Arts and Textile Industries of Roubaix. His painting is influenced by this border duality.
Having become a chemist colorist, he leaves for Paris. He accidentally approaches the artistic milieu and puts an end to his original career, chemistry. From his previous studies, he keeps dexterity, order, precision and a technical knowledge of materials. He continued his studies at the University Paris VII in Visual Arts and the School of Arts in Saint-Denis where he worked under the direction of the artists Quentin Van Offel, Jean-Rene Joly and Michel Aksent.
He decides to settle in Switzerland in Lutry. He founded the school Visual Arts Trace dedicated to visual awareness and artistic approach. It welcomes around fifty students, from 5 to 90 years old.
